What hardware do your Vancouver VPS servers run on?
Vancouver VPS are hosted on Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors (18 cores / 36 threads, 2.1 GHz base, 3.3 GHz turbo) at eStruxture, 555 West Hastings Street. Each Vancouver VPS runs on KVM with dedicated DDR4 ECC RAM, Enterprise SSD storage and a 500 Mbit/s port. Data stays in Canada, and the West Coast location serves British Columbia, the US Pacific Northwest and Asia-Pacific traffic well.
Who is the Vancouver location a good fit for?
Vancouver keeps data in Canada while sitting on the Pacific coast, which is the combination British Columbia projects usually need: provincial rules often require Canadian residency, and Toronto is a continent away from the audience. Take it for BC businesses and public-sector work, for Canadian projects serving the west, and for traffic heading to Asia-Pacific from a Canadian jurisdiction. It also pairs well with Seattle when a project needs a machine on each side of the border. The node runs Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 with Enterprise SSD. If you need the newer Xeon Gold platform under Canadian jurisdiction, Toronto is the one to take.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover & Diners, China UnionPay, bank transfers and PayPal.
How much does it cost to enable automatic backups?
An instance with automatic daily backups enabled will have a 20% higher base monthly fee. Weekly backup for free.
I don't see my preferred operating system listed. Can I provide my ISO image of OS to install on VPS?
Yes, please provide a direct HTTP or HTTPS download link for the ISO image in your support ticket. Ensure that the link does not require authorization for access and submit it to our support team.
Do you support multiple IP addresses per VPS?
Many of our plans come with one primary IPv4 address. Additional addresses are available for an extra fee.
Do you allow SMTP?
In some instances, outbound traffic to the SMTP port may be blocked for new accounts. If you encounter this restriction, contact our support team from the portal.
What type of virtualization do you use?
We utilize KVM virtualization on all of our infrastructure.
Do you charge for stopped instances?
Yes, instances in a stopped state continue to reserve dedicated system resources (RAM, SSD storage, IP aliases, vCPU). If you wish to no longer accumulate charges for a virtual machine, please use the «Request cancelation» button in Client area of Portal.
What will happen when the bandwidth volume runs out?
– For the plan with one vCPU and two vCPU, the port speed will be reduced to 5Mbps.
– For all other plans, the port speed will be set to 10Mbps.
Do you support rDNS (PTR)?
Yes. We fully support rDNS. Every client can add or edit rDNS (PTR) records for their IPs directly in the Client Area
